Ah to be able to take the boat over for a pint at Number 57. Mebbe nick over for a cocktail 🍹 at Bird & Bear(one way trip with alcohol involved obvs 🙄). This is King George IV Dock with Customs house on the right. Now of course known as Slessor gardens. Dundee came about as a port sometime in the 11th/12th century(Dundee historians please feel free to flex some knowledge in comments🤓) and has continuously evolved over the last 1000 years. This is just the latest iteration. 100 years from now we’ll all be lying in pods with VR headsets living in the Metaverse(ask your kids😆) Sounds alright actually🤔🤷♂️ Meanwhile though the waterfront development rolls on. We, of course, are interested in the boaty bits. One of our primary aims as a business is to reconnect the people of Dundee to The Tay and promote the area nationally and(in our small way) globally. Its a difficult thing to have a boat here, there's only one place we can collect passengers and that's Broughty Ferry harbour. We'd love to collect passengers directly from the waterfront. What do you think about plans for a marina in City Quay? would you be more likely to get involved, buy a wee boat?
Some clarifications:
-Money used for this will be Tay Cities Deal/ business investment. It would not take away money from other areas of the city. It’s either used for this or Dundee doesn’t get it. It’s a something or nothing kinda deal🤷♂️
-Yes there’s a cost of living crisis atm. I too have a gas meter😥. Let’s talk about the 1000 year plan though🙂
