Newlands Care Home A place for updates and information on events. Newlands is a Gracious Victorian House set in 3/4 of an acre of beautiful gardens overlooking Dunfermline.

We are registered to care for 22 residents in single rooms and the home also has 2 living rooms a dinning room, conservatory and an activity room. At Newlands our team of staff have been selected not only for their experience but also because of their dedication and commitment to ensuring that all residents in the home have a happy and fulfilling life.

🎶✨ Calling all entertainers, singers & activity providers ✨🎶

We are looking to add some new faces and fresh ideas to our activities programme here at Newlands Care Home.

We already have some wonderful entertainers who visit us regularly, but we would love to introduce our residents to some different experiences too. We are interested in hearing from:

🎤 Singers / musicians
💃 Movement, dance or exercise sessions
🐾 Animal therapy visits
🎨 Creative or craft sessions
🧘 Relaxation or wellbeing activities
🧩 Interactive talks, demonstrations or something a little different!

Our residents enjoy a wide range of activities and we are always looking for new opportunities to bring fun, laughter and meaningful experiences into the home.

🌸🌿 Our beautiful garden at Newlands 🌿🌸

At Newlands, we are very fortunate to have a wonderful secure garden that has been loved, enjoyed and nurtured by our residents and their families since its creation a couple of years ago.

This time of year is always particularly special, as the garden comes to life with colour, flowers blooming, birds visiting and so many little signs of nature all around us.

With plenty of peaceful spaces to sit, both in the sunshine and the shade, our residents can enjoy the fresh air, listen to the birds, spend time with friends and family, or simply relax and take in the surroundings.

Our garden is a big part of everyday life at Newlands. Whenever the weather allows, you’ll find our residents outside enjoying a cup of tea, a chat, helping with the plants, or just enjoying the calm and happiness that being outdoors brings. 💚

An update on where to find our news 💙

We’d like to let our followers know that, to protect the privacy and dignity of our residents, we now share our day-to-day updates, photos and activities exclusively in our private Facebook group.

This allows us to safely share meaningful moments, celebrations and updates with the people who matter most, family members and close friends of our current residents, in a more secure and respectful space.

If you are a family member or friend of someone living with us, you are very welcome to join our private group by following the link below and requesting to join. Once approved, you’ll be able to see regular updates and photos of life in the home.

Today was one of our residents birthdays. His wife asked if it was at all possible to have a small cream tea. Absolutely!! We decorated our conservatory for a small cream tea lunch for close family and friends. It was also our residents wife's birthday too so it was a lovely joint celebration.🥳🫶🥰

Today we enjoyed a trip out to giveadogabone.net in Dunfermline and it was a lovely experience with tea, coffee and biscuits, great conversation with volunteers and of course getting to cuddle lovely dogs like Kara & Cody. Our residents loved it very much, thank you for letting us come and be a part of such a great community space

July has kept us all busy here at Newlands with movie afternoons, quizzes, baking days, reminiscence clubs, arts and crafts, art therapy sessions, visits from our therapet Dog Alfie, relaxation sessions with an aromatherapy specialist and trial reiki sessions too, music, movement, yoga and also entertainment. I think we all need a rest now. 😅🥰
