Ruskin Lodges are located in Argyll Forest, on the western edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, near to Dunoon. They are in a small group of quiet, privately-owned log cabins, beside the famous Puck's Glen and close to Benmore Botanical Gardens. Ruskin Lodges are located in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park - a special landscape rich in wildlife and heritage. A massive development on the loch's shores, a 'Flamingo Land' resort, was proposed resulting in over 155,000 letters of objection. Organisations like the National Trust for Scotland, Woodland Trust, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, the local community council and even Loch Lomond's own expert planning officer also objected and the original plans were rejected unanimously by the national park's planning board in September last year.

However, Scottish Government ministers have the power to override the decision and have indicated that they will approve plans, purely on (perceived) economic grounds.

Help! Our 90+ TripAdvisor reviews are gone.

Over 12 years' worth of kind reviews from our wonderful guests have been wiped from TripAdvisor. It removed our listings, and with them, all the feedback we worked so hard to earn. Finally got around to taking fresh photos of Ruskin Lodge North (No. 6) after last year's decor refresh. Had a lovely spring weekend so took the chance ahead of our Easter guests' arrival to capture the lodge in the sunshine. Love that view from the kitchen sink...

Did anyone catch Rick Stein's Argyll (more like Cowal) trip? It was mainly filmed in the area around the lodges - the Holy Loch and Loch Fyne. AND the wonderful Wreckspeditions helped the camera crew with their drone footage. You can watch it on BBC iPlayer - and anyone who came over on the ferry will recognise the opening shot!

In Argyll, Rick catches langoustine, meets a foraging chef and makes tattie scones.
