With over 30years transporting our own horses we are now offering nationwide and International transport for your horses. Horsebox is DEFRA Certified, driver have Equine Transport Certificate and we are fully insured for Hire and Reward. We offer 24 hour callout and booking for your horse journeys. “It’s only 15 minutes up the road”
…said absolutely everyone, everywhere, nearly every day. 🤣🐴

So here’s a little reality check for anyone wondering why horse transport isn’t £20 and a packet of polos.
Let’s talk what actually goes into getting your horse from A to B safely, legally and professionally:

🚚 The Transporter Itself
- £60K per lorry + VAT (at least for proper new build horseboxes) - I have 5 of them...
- Finance payments / cash owned lorries @£250K +
- Depreciation

⛽ Fuel
- Spoiler alert: diesel isn’t free
- Ever watched the fuel gauge drop when pulling 600kg of “I don’t wanna load today”? 👀

🪪 Insurance (the fun part)
- Fully comp business vehicle insurance
- Hire & Reward insurance
- Public liability
- Care, custody & control
- Try 10K a year to be covered on multiple lorries CORRECTLY with PROPER INSURERS.

🛠 Maintenance & Repairs
- Tyres (£150–£300 each)
- Servicing
- MOT's
- Vehicle time off the road when back for warranty repairs
- “your horse tap-danced on the ramp hinges” repairs

📞 Admin & Compliance
- Operator licences
- DEFRA licensing
- Training & qualifications
- Booking management
- Paperwork that nobody sees but everyone needs

⌚ Time
- Driving time
- Loading time
- Waiting time
- The “your horse reversed the other way for 20 minutes” time

🐴 Horse Welfare
- Bedding
- Clean-out between trips
- Emergency equipment
- Calm, experienced handlers (that alone should cost £1m)

…and all of that BEFORE we even start the engine.

So when someone says:

What we actually hear is:
➡️ “Please bring £60k+ worth of specialist equipment, years of experience, and assume all responsibility for my horse… and do it for a tenner.” 😂👏
