When Isla was a pup she lived in Sherburn hill, so yesterday evening we set off on a walk from Old Stone Cottage, taking the route we used to walk towards Sherburn Hill and back, amazing views, and lots of sniffs for Isla while I picked a few Blackberries!
This morning she slept in until 9am! Zzzzz
We may have a walk on Seaham beach today which is only 20 minute drive away ☺️

The calm before the storm as they say; it is important to take time out to rejuvenate and last weekend was the perfect time to take a little time out before the mayhem of the summer holidays begins.

I always think it is good practice to stay in your own accommodation, that way you can spot anything that may be missing or need tweaking from a guests point of view.
So last weekend I invited my Sister (she will give an honest opinion) and a friend who has never visited the cottage before (fresh pair of eyes!)

The weather was great so we headed out to the gardens of , we enjoyed an Iced latte and a gorgeous home made scone from the Vinery cafe.
On Saturday night we headed into Durham city which is just a short bus ride away for a night on the town.
Sunday took us to Seaham, a 20 minute drive away, where we enjoyed breakfast in a wonderful vibrant friendly cafe with sea views.
