Team Durham Holiday Camps

Team Durham Holiday Camps Team Durham Holiday Camps are fun-filled, active school holiday scheme for ages 5 to 16. They are held at our Sports and Wellbeing Park.

Team Durham run a variety of Holiday Camps throughout the year for both primary (from 5 years old) and secondary age children. Our camps are run by qualified and DBS checked coaches, from both our permanent staff and our student population, some of whom are high performance athletes. All proceeds from our camps go back into supporting future camps and helping to run our Team Durham Community Outreach Programme for young people throughout the year.

We have had just close to 2500 children through the door over the past 4 weeks and worked with 15 amazing sports and dance coaches too. But it’s our volunteers that make the biggest difference and so we wanted to say a big thank you to the 40+ volunteers that have been part of our team this summer…some old faces but lots of new ones too. The day today finished off with our inflatable obstacle course and a huge game of dodgeball with guest appearances from our volunteers/mascots.

A great team performance this summer so thank you all for your support. Until next time.

Update on bookings/places this week.

Just a reminder, this is our final week of camps this summer.

We are full tomorrow but we do have 1 place available on multisports (5 to 12 years) and 5 places on our dance camp (ages 8-12 years) this Friday.

As a reminder, all our groups will have the chance to take on our inflatable obstacle course this Friday which is quite easily the most popular activity for the children so if you are interested in a place, dont leave it too long as bookings will close at lunchtime tomorrow.

Another fond farewell to one of our coaches, Charlotte, who recently graduated from Durham University after being an amazing dance, gymnastics and multisports coach with us for the past few years. Here is a message from Charlotte:

"I wanted to say thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to coach whilst at Durham - it’s something I love to do and am so glad I got to continue with it. I’ve had the best time coaching with a great team and meeting some really great holiday camp goers!"

Charlotte has now moved to Manchester to do her barrister training course and will be qualified next summer!

Charlotte was such an amazing coach and person and we will miss her dearly and wish her well in the future.

We recently said goodbye to one of our fantastic holiday camp coaches, Harry, as he heads off to a new venture with the Foundation of Light in Sunderland. Harry has been an amazing coach and colleague for the last few years and worked on a range of camps including football, multisports and adventure camps. He will be a great miss and our loss is The Foundation of Lights gain. From the office staff, coaching staff, volunteers, parents and children a big thank you and good luck. Your legacy will live on (in the form of our pop up banners and leaflets alone).
