Mmmhmm, and what is going on here?

When we rescued Doc, Kenny and Glads words were:

"He won’t be allowed on the sofa mind, so don’t you tempt him”

🤣 Fast forward to today and here’s the photographic evidence that he is now a fully-fledged member of the Rule Breakers Club.

Now Dad is claiming the photo is AI generated but I am not convinced !

This is exactly why we include throws in the lodge, because if you're anything like us, those sofa rules tend to magically disappear once the dog gives you ‘that’ look and worms their way into your heart.

Dog-friendly? Absolutely. Sofa privileges? Negotiable😉

We had such a lovely walk at Low Burnhall yesterday, peaceful paths, riverside views and Skye loved it! 🐾 We would recommend a visit to any of our guests and friends who love to spend some time in nature.

🧱 This has to be the most unique gift we have ever received in the post.

A brick for the ‘brickologist’ ! I was crying laughing when I thought of our lovely guest going to the post office explaining they were sending a brick through the post 🤣 Honestly though, how kind is this ❤️

We truly do get the best people staying, thank you so much Nina and Malcom , Kenny was over the moon !

🧁 We don’t believe it, not only did our last wonderful guests leave this amazing feedback but they also bought us a gift from Broom Mill Farm Shop & The Mill Kitchen.

We have had a ball (too short a stay) your house, garden and the lodge are so therapeutic and we are going home better than we arrived.

Brodie and Teidh loved it too. I had a great education, my challenge is to find Kenny another brick.

“This is, without a doubt, the best place my family has ever stayed at via booking.com. The Lodge itself was immaculately clean, but what really set it apart was the garden setting, it's's truly breathtaking. The couple that run the place are on the site when you're there, but are not at all in your face, just extremely helpful if you need assistance.

I can't recommend this place enough, we (me, my wife and daughter) enjoyed it so much and will return at the earliest opportunity."

hahaha, Beamish Museum nailed this :-) My grandad was a proper workyticket and he definitely spoke like this. I always remember him getting a drink of 'watta' not water. So...

Remember, if ye’re visitin' Beamish, we’ve got a canny little lodge waitin’ for ye. Two proper tidy bedrooms, clean as owt, wi’ fresh bedding an’ all the bits ye might need. There’s a neat garden oot back, grand for sittin’ wi’ a brew or lettin’ the bairns have a good run about. It’s peaceful as owt, and kept right smart.

If ye do fancy a break, where ye can visit Beamish, Durham, an’ Bishop, this place’ll dee champion. We think you will be proper chuffed that you booked!

Perks of the job!

Kenny was enjoying a night out at the weekend and met a lovely couple who were visiting the area to go to Locomotion. They said one of the biggest problems travelling around can be having to book weekly stays when they only want to stay for a few days. So we want you to know we are there for those shorter stays as well as those longer adventures !

There is so much going on locally to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first journey on the Stockton and Darlington Railway( S&dr200). So today, this is a call out for all railway enthusiasts to say we are ideally located for many of the events.

Oooooppppppssss ! I said I would be back to tell you more and then I wasn't ! Sorry about that.

You will remember that we lost Mam's velcro dog Jack back in February and he left an enormous hole in Mam and Dad's heart.

There was much discussion about could we get a dog again. The loss is horrible and we didn't know if we could inevitabley face that again. There have been so many tears and to be honest there still is over Jack.

However, it was decided that our house was not quite a home without a four legged friend. So here we are...

We went to Morgans Dog Rescue after seeing this little boy on their rescue page and the rest is history.

He has had a rough start in life and to top it off the little lad is blind. He is NOTHING like Jack, he comes with his own quirks, humour and way of showing us love (especially the ridiculous slobbery tongue). We all love him (in fact I think he may well be starting to rescue us).

He is about to start official training this week, so wish us luck.

❤️ How exciting ! Babies have arrived, you may need to zoom in as we did not want to scare them, but there are 5 moor hen chicks with their Mam and Dad . It looks like they are enjoying the garden too 🐣
