The Cape of Good Hope

Located at the southern tip of Africa, named by Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias in 1488. He called it the “Cape of Storms” due to the treacherous weather he encountered.

It was renamed by King John II of Portugal to the “Cape of Good Hope” because he saw it as a hopeful sign of finding a sea route to India and the Far East.

Enjoy snowy woodland views from your cosy log cabin. The Immelmökit Cabins are in a beautiful, quiet location beside Immeljärvi Lake - when it's frozen over in winter you'll have some of the best chances to spot the Northern Lights from here. 

Built from local pine, these traditional style cabins have a cosy and homely feel.
