Last year, we dropped our popular Harry Potter tour to do an LGBTQ tour, and we’ve never looked back. It’s helped to shape everything the Street Historians is supposed to be, showing our city in a unique way and telling stories that matter more than the standard fare.

We’re proud to be continuing this tour and contributing to the community. We can come together and win all our rights!

remains our partners and part of proceeds from the tours supports them.

With thanks to for breaking the story last year, for picking it up and for amplifying it, amongst many others!

In this article, you'll see how the Edinburgh Street Historians designed a poster for their free walking tours in Edinburgh using simple online tools.

In my “taking selfies where I look rubbish and my guests look beautiful” era. Yesterday was an LGBTQ tour! We do them every Friday with a portion of the proceeds going to who are a very important charity for q***r people in Scotland.

It’s basically part of what we’re trying to do at Street Historians, walking tours that show off the city to visitors but also unveil it to locals. Everyone could do to know more about this place because it’s lovely and complicated.

Next month, Pride Month, there’s lots of availability for the LGBTQ tour. We’re doing it in afternoons as well as the regular Friday!

Edinburgh Street Historians: We have the cutest guests and the lowest quality selfie cameras!

The season is here and group sizes are getting quite grand. The hope is we can keep them this size as much as possible because it easier to navigate the increasing crowds.

Also got a cool new leaflet design (pic 2), any feedback?

One of the delights about what we’re doing at Edinburgh Street Historians is telling stories many other tour guides don’t.

Enter Roisin, stage left. She’s passionate about history, comedy, performance, cultural and political activism. She’s ran podcasts and published zines. As a Street Historian, she does the Forgotten Women tour and she came up with the premise (and performs some of) the True Crime tours.

If you are interested in True Crime or underrated women in history, you should definitely come see her.

Yesterday was very fun. I had a good sized group for my walking tour, I love how since I’ve gone independent I now have fewer people generally but they have a better time. What was once a small group now feels mid-sized but I can tell the people are happier than those in my previous 30 guest groups. The weather was also peak, to speak like a Gen Z momentarily.

Also, went to a potluck at flat so had to stop by to pick up something and found the lovely ladies at breakfast. So that was also fun!

One of many great seasonal events, new this year but hopefully retuning next year: a tulip festival! There’s a heap of cute Dutch themed items but the main star is the gorgeous flowers. The other star of this photo set is my son rocking

We love Craigies as a family. They have at least one event that we go to every season. Next up: summer berry picking!
