It was great to be back in the West Highlands the other day, picking up two intrepid ladies from a wonderful bike ride the length of the Outer Hebrides. I met them off the MV Loch Seaforth at Ullapool; loaded them and their bikes and kit into the VW Transporter and got them back to Edinburgh safely and comfortably. It’s a worthwhile option considering the lack of space for bikes on the trains and buses.

Delighted to be able to help a client out today with a last minute request for a transfer to beautiful Argyll. At short notice, the car was presented immaculate inside and out with a supply of face masks, sanitising gel and wipes. Steve; one of my excellent team of drivers, had to factor in the closure of the Rest and Be Thankful in his timings but made it to the pier in good time for the client’s boat departing and did a great job as ever.

The motto depicted on the archway (“Je pense forward”) is something I remember from my childhood but it’s still relevant today. One of my clients on holiday abroad was forward thinking enough to get back to beat the quarantine deadline and book AEC to get him back from the airport.

I like to try and be similarly forward thinking in the every day running of the business; be it always having the cars immaculate before any service or having a route planned in advance for a roadshow or tour.

Today is the 7th anniversary of AE Chauffeurs being founded. In the last seven years, I have had the pleasure of transporting clients all over our beautiful country. The picture below is from one of my first trips; a tour of the Fife fishing villages with a lovely American couple who have returned every year since. Each time they return it reminds me of how much the business has grown since that first trip and all the lessons I have learned in that time.
