🌻 Supporting the Sunflower Gathering 🌻

High Flyers Basketball Academy and Games at The Gate, Holiday Sports and Activities Camps are proud to support the Sunflower Gathering.

We’re excited to share that we have set up a range of fun sports and activity sessions for children to enjoy as part of this fantastic community event. It’s a great chance for young people to get active, have fun, and be part of a special day bringing the community together.

Coach Gav will be travelling to Ukraine on 19th December, and we’d love to fill his bags with Christmas gifts specially requested by children in an orphanage there.

🎉 Laser tag legends, you did it! 🎯

Between your generous donations and the fantastic turnout at our laser tag night, we’ve raised an amazing £796 towards our Ukraine Christmas 2025 aid trip! 💙💛 Every pound helps us deliver warmth, essentials, and a bit of festive cheer to families who need it most this coming Christmas.

A massive thank you to Ami and the brilliant team at Ratho Community Centre for accommodating us — from the set-up to the smiles, you made the whole night run so smoothly. And the biggest shout-out to all the children and families who came along, geared up, and brought the energy! The teamwork, the playful rivalries, and the neon-glow victory dances were everything. 🔦✨

Laser Tag event - Gavin’s Heading Back to Ukraine This Christmas — Please Help Us Help the Kids from Odesa 🎄🇺🇦

Many of you know Gavin, but what some of our new children and families wont know is that he paused his master’s at university and, within weeks of the escalation in 2022, went to Ukraine to help evacuate civilians and deliver aid. A few Christmases ago he bought presents for over 750 children, and he’s continued to support them including raising funds and purchasing a new boiler for the orphanage and from afar with supplies and regular contact.

This Christmas he’s going back - driving over 4000 miles round trip! 🗺🚗💨

After months in Poland, support couldn’t continue indefinitely, so many children have returned to Ukraine.
They’re split up in temporary foster care, apart from their friends.
Their school is now in a basement for safety.
The orphanage director has suffered a stress-related heart attack and is recovering.

This Christmas matters more than ever. We’re raising as much as possible to bring supplies and some joy back into these children’s lives.

What your support will fund:
Travel and logistics
Christmas presents and essential supplies
Any surplus will go directly to the families and school to use where it’s most needed

Gavin leaves the UK on Friday 19th of December
