Today is the Stirling Highland Games taking place in Stirling Sports Village is our very own local Highland Games. This is an incredibly popular event and boasts up to 8,000 visitors with something for everyone from food stalls to whisky tasting to Highland dancing and of course bagpipes. Highland Games are truly a special event to attend allowing you to experience Scottish culture first hand.

This statue is "The Puck" in County Kerry and today is the day where the Puck Fair begins. This is a tradition which dates back centuries in which a group of people adventure into the mountains where they will capture a wild mountain goat who will be named "King Puck" by the "Queen of Puck" who is traditionally a local school girl. For three days, pubs are open for longer than normal closing at 3am with the goat being placed on a high stand for the three days of the fair before being released back into the mountains on the final day.

Today is National Book Lovers Day so of course we just had to showcase the awe-inspiring Trinity College Library which is something straight out of a book lovers dreams. Not only is this incredible library nicknamed by some as the Harry Potter Library because it looks straight out of Hogwarts, but it is in fact also home to the Book of Kells, a perfect piece of medieval history in the form of a manuscript.
