One of my favourite places in Scotland to take guests. This is sailing past the magnificent Fingal’s Cave on the island of Staffa.

Formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago, Fingal’s Cave is famous for its towering basalt columns and the incredible sound created as Atlantic waves echo through the cavern. The island has inspired visitors for generations, including composer Felix Mendelssohn, whose visit led to The Hebrides Overture.

Even after many visits, it remains one of the most dramatic and memorable places to experience on Scotland’s west coast.
