Welcome to the Ross Fountain on a quiet morning in Princes Street Garden, Edinburgh.

I’m BACK in the capital! Just having a wander around the city through the sights I love. It’s great to be back getting some time at home for 2 weeks and getting routine through consistent summer walking tours.

Openings for Old Town Walking tours everyday at 9am and 3pm. You are welcome to join on a trip full of stories and dad jokes 😉

Finally coming back down to earth after 28 days on the road in May, finishing with a 6-day private tour that honestly couldn’t have gone much better.

The weather was unbelievable, the team smashed every hike and adventure, and once again Scotland reminded me why I love showing people around this country.

When I look back at itineraries like this, it feels as though we’ve been travelling for months rather than days. Somehow we manage to pack so much into a trip without it ever feeling rushed.

Here’s what 6 days in Scotland looked like:

🏰 Day 1 – Edinburgh Old Town, Arthur’s Seat, Dean Village & the Royal Botanic Garden

⛴️ Day 2 – Doune Castle, Finlarig Castle, Kilchurn Castle, Balquhidder Glen, St Conan’s Kirk & ferry to Mull

🐧 Day 3 – Boat trip to Staffa and Lunga for puffins and incredible seabird colonies

🦦 Day 4 – Tobermory Lighthouse, Lochbuie Standing Stones, Moy Castle, Laggan Beach, otter watching & Aros Falls

⛰️ Day 5 – Hiking on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Castle Tioram, Dumbledore’s Grave & Cille Choirill

⛪️ Day 6 – The Hermitage, Birnam Oak, Kinnoull Hill, St Andrews, Anstruther & Pittenweem

If you could just pick ONE of these days, which would you choose and why?

The Isle of Staffa feels like a place that shouldn’t exist.

Rising from the Atlantic off the west coast of Scotland, this small island was formed by volcanic activity around 60 million years ago. As the lava cooled, it cracked into thousands of remarkable hexagonal basalt columns, creating one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Britain.

These same geological forces also created the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, but Staffa has something extra.

Fingal’s Cave.

Carved into the island by the relentless power of the Atlantic Ocean, the cave’s towering basalt walls and natural acoustics have inspired visitors for centuries. Standing at its entrance, it’s easy to understand why many describe it as a natural cathedral.

And it’s not just the geology that makes Staffa special. During the summer months, puffins return to nest on the island’s grassy cliffs, adding a splash of colour and plenty of character to an already unforgettable place.

Whether you come for the cave, the wildlife or simply to witness one of Scotland’s greatest natural wonders, Staffa is a place that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Have you visited Staffa, or is it still on your bucket list? 👇

Second multi-day group tour of 2026 has come to an end. A splendid and extremely precious experience. A lot of laughter, fun and chaos throughout. A reminder that Scottish weather isn’t always ideal… but the scenery and the craic always is.

Over the last 12 months, the tours I’m taking have added an extra element. My interest in birds and wildlife since turning 30 has predictably gone completely nuts 😂 So much so that it’s not just the tours reflecting that anymore outside of touring I’m now volunteering at an RSPB nature reserve.

For me, Scotland’s wildlife is incredible. I’ve learnt so much already and there’s still so much more to come. I genuinely can’t wait to show you. And we can have an emusing time together 🐦

This week’s tour took us out to the Isle of Mull, Staffa and Lunga taking in some of the very best wildlife, history and culture Scotland has to offer. A cheeky puffin here, a Highland coo there, and a Hebridean bottlenose dolphin prancing about like the team at the Oban Ceilidh right in front of us. Scotland at its best, you can’t beat it.

Throughout the journey there were some honest reminders which may be useful to you!
✅ If you’re planning a boat trip, try to do it early in your trip and give yourself an extra day or two in case it’s cancelled and you need to rebook
✅ If you’re a fair-weather explorer, either invest in proper waterproofs or build flexibility into your itinerary for wet days. Castles, cafés, museums, whisky tours — don’t let the weather dictate your fun
✅ If there’s an opportunity to do a Scottish ceilidh, DO IT
✅ Don’t forget to put the phone down and actually take it all in
❌ Glenfinnan Viaduct, even without the Jacobite crossing, is still too busy at peak times to even get into the car park

Back after an almighty 10 Day Tour taking in the best of the Inner Hebrides including the Isles of Mull, Iona, Lunga, Staffa and Skye.

Waking up this morning the tour blues have really started to kick in. I know this is my job to build these itineraries and bring Scotland to life. But Now starting my 4th year full time I think that this trip has to be the best I have put together so far. The locations, the hikes, the food and experiences have been spot on and luckily enough to share it with a cracking bunch from the US and Canada. It must be said that the weather and wildlife did us a favour mind 😂 plus the opening of the Isle of Staffa 2 days earlier. It just all fell into place.

What I love best about these trips is the variety. Spending time off the beaten path but also returning for more well known bucketlist places. It is my vision to take tours which spend more time outside of the Van immersing ourselves in the landscapes. Meeting the locals whether it’s the people or the Puffins, eagles, otters, deer and more.

There’s no doubt it’s hard work. But dam is it fulfilling. If you want to tour with me on a small group tour. There’s a couple more spaces for:
- 29th July 2026
- 4th september 2026
- 22nd October 2026
