Blackness Castle, located near South Queensferry, has had many lives over the years!

The castle has been a royal residence, a fortress, a prison and even an ammunition depot over the centuries. More recently, the castle started as Fort William in season one of Outlander. Loch Ness might take the crown as Scotland’s most famous loch, but that doesn’t mean you should leave Loch Lomond off your itinerary for your next trip to Scotland. Loch Lomond is the largest loch in Scotland by surface area, and is also home to 22 islands, including one which is home to a colony of wallabies!

We are biased of course, but we think a wee trip to Loch Lomond is the perfect way to spend a summer day ☀️
