We’re giving back to the people who give so much!

We’re excited to share that The Edinburgh Address and Adore Scotland have joined an incredible initiative called Room to Reward. This scheme gifts free stays to some of the UK’s most dedicated charity workers and volunteers.

It works by transforming unbooked hotel rooms and holiday homes into short, thank-you breaks for individuals who go above and beyond in their communities. The stays are completely free for the guests, and offered by property owners who want to make a difference.

Our first donation is our lovely two-bedroom holiday home in Edinburgh - The Causewayside Apartment @ Newington, and we can’t wait to welcome our first guest.

Anna Morris, our Managing Director, shared this:
“We’re delighted to be part of the Room to Reward initiative and hugely grateful to our property owners who are on board and happy to donate their unsold nights in Edinburgh. It’s a fantastic way to give something back to the Hidden Heroes who dedicate their time and energy to supporting others.”

Since 2007, The Edinburgh Address has proudly welcomed guests to Edinburgh, and we look forward to many more years of hosting you.

Last week, self-catering operators from across Scotland gathered outside the Scottish Parliament with an important message: please stop unfairly blaming our sector.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting families, couples, solo travellers, artists, and professionals from all over the world. Many of you return year after year, and your ongoing support has helped us grow from one home in 2007 to a business that supports local jobs and partners with many small, independent Scottish companies.

You might not know about the ongoing challenges holiday home providers like us have faced in recent years. New short-term let regulations are being applied broadly and rigidly, affecting even well-established and responsible businesses.

Despite this, self-catering providers are often unfairly singled out as the cause of Scotland’s housing issues, but the facts tell a different story:

- Self-catering homes make up just 0.8% of Scotland’s housing stock.
- Over 3.6% of homes remain empty.
- Our sector contributes an estimated £864 million annually to the Scottish economy and supports more than 29,000 jobs.

We believe in fair and sensible rules. From the beginning, we’ve ensured all our property owners meet safety standards, hold public liability insurance, and are properly registered with local councils.
Good, responsible businesses shouldn’t be penalised simply for existing.
