Another beautiful "springer" taken on a black Flying C on the Newtyle beat on the River Tay. Great to see it swim away! Well done Patrick and many thanks for handling this magnificent fish with such care and respect.

A perfect few days of sport, scenery, good food and great company, summed up in this note from one of our guests:

"Hi Alex, just wanted to say thank you for arranging a great grouse shoot and stay for us this week! Young James, the guide for the shoot, was terrific and super nice, the views and experience were amazing, and we saw at least 12-15 birds which was great given how bad the past 2 breeding seasons have been for grouse.

I connected on my first 2 shots, missed 2 other long shot attempts, and passed up shots on several others that flushed farther away than I thought would be an ethical shot. But for me, getting those 2 was just perfect, and the chef was excited to cook them up for us that night, and they were delicious!"

An early morning on the hill with stag stalking (hunting) clients gave us a chance to look back over the fishing season so far and to share just a tiny selection of the many lovely photos our guests have sent us.

From powerful spring salmon on the Tay, Dee, Spey and Tweed to wild brown trout across Highland lochs and rivers, it has been a memorable few months for our guests.

We now move into the busiest period River & Green has ever known, welcoming salmon and trout anglers, stag hunters and wingshooters from across the world. Thank you to everyone who has already joined us on the water this season, it has been a privilege to share Scotland’s rivers and lochs with you.

There is still time to book fishing or hunting for the remainder of this season, but 2026 is already filling quickly, so do get in touch soon to secure your preferred dates.

We're about to enter the main booking period for 2024's fishing, but before we do, we thought we'd share these great photos sent to us by some lovely 2023 clients from their trip to Highland Perthshire

It's been a great summer so far for fishing and roe stalking. We had our first grouse clients out yesterday + today and our first stag hunters of year are arriving on Sunday, so it feels a bit like the calm before the storm today!

Seems like a good time to post a few photos........

On a different note, lots of partridge / pheasant dates available from September / October onwards.

We've got some rare stag availability on the Isle of Harris from Saturday 16th to Saturday 23rd September + some days in Highland Perthshire in the last 2 weeks of September - more details will go out to those on the mailing list tomorrow.
