We've worked with this Scout group since 2023, helping plan the route, permits and logistics for a full troop of young people trekking to Machu Picchu. This included riding out a run of bad weather on the trail, and when things didn't go entirely to plan, trusting our Cusco-based guides to handle it calmly and get everyone through safely. That's exactly what having good people on the ground means.

Huge thanks to Gill on our team, who's supported this group through three years of planning calls, flight changes and permit deadlines to make this trip happen. And a massive thank you to the scout leaders and every young person who took on the trails, for sharing your Peru adventure with us, and for giving a whole group of kids their first real look at the Andes. Well done, all of you!

The guides were fantastic, the food was great, the pace was great, and the hotels were great!

My husband and I were chatting and we honestly don’t think we would skip any of the activities and tours we did if we could do it all again.

The photo is of us on our one very rainy day, hiking Sierra Negra. The kids absolutely loved it despite the rain.

🚤 Small-ship cruise — wake up in a different remote location each day, with guided wildlife encounters and daily landings.

🏝️ Island-hopping — stay in comfortable hotels on one or more of the islands, and take guided boat or land tours to visit wildlife sites.

Both options offer fantastic wildlife experiences — just in different ways.

“We had a bucket list of places to visit, especially Patagonia. Tom put together our trip based on our list. Friend recommended Andean Trails. We did look at other travel companies but liked the idea of a bespoke trip organised for us. Tom did a great job.”

“It’s difficult to pick one highlight, but probably our stay in El Chalten. The weather there was glorious and autumn colours beautiful. Hotel was nice, all the walks we did we enjoyed. Atacama was pretty special too. Overall, the landscape and scenery were amazing.”

“Guides were all great, as was organisation. Everything went to plan. Any query dealt with promptly. We particularly valued having the local contacts who kept in touch throughout.”

We've just received these fabulous phots from Bruce's photography tour in Brazil. The group has been enjoying wonderful weather.

Bruce says "Perhaps the most beautiful place I’ve visited, Lençóis Maranhenses national park is a sand dune and lagoon complex that covers 1,500 km2. The landscape is a study of minimalism, subtle shading and warm light that is like nowhere else that I’ve been to. Being in the dune complex during the early hours of evening times can be a wonderful experience. "
