Evening dinners to remember under a star-studded African night sky. Our repeat Sandgrouse Travel & Expeditions clients arrive into Longyearbyen today, the furthest north one can fly in the world by a commercial airliner!

The multi-national team including our expert Norwegian Polar guide, Morten who is leading the exped, are about to embark on a first of its kind expedition to ski tour pulling heavily ladened pulks, before climbing Ben Nevis, the Arctic Spitsbergen sister peak of Scotland’s famous highest mountain.

The Polar Ben Nevis was named by Scotland’s most acclaimed polar explorer and adventurer who is unfortunately little known today, William Speirs Bruce. In the late 1800’s it was here he established a whaling station here, 650-miles from the North Pole.

We wish the team an incredible adventure and every success in their unique endeavour! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️🇳🇴
