Beautiful day at Covesea lighthouse beach today. Looking for a break then why not try the Highlands, beautiful beaches, sand dunes, great weather, Cornwall but without the crowds

Went a bit further afield today, 22 miles to Nairn which is an old fishing village. Three lovely beaches, sand dunes, grassy banks, harbour (with cafes), play area and guillemots

Hello and a belated Happy Christmas to you all. After 9 eventful years at Birchenfields we have sold most of the property retaining only the Katie and Damien's barn conversion. We have had an amazing time running and improving the cottages over the years but we have now moved to Scotland where we have bought a B&B in Elgin in beautiful Moray. So we haven't given up on hospitality just changed location and direction.

We would like to thank all our guest for helping us build Birchenfields into a lovely place to stay and perhaps we will see some of you again at Willowbank in Elgin when we open for business in the spring. For our many repeat guests we are sure that the new owners Alison and Roger would love to welcome you back to Birchenfields. If you would like us to pass on any requests for holiday dates we are happy to do so.
