Epping Ongar Steam Railway (Pic) - During the season steam train whistles from the Epping Ongar Railway can be routinely heard outside the Great Barn. One ticket provides all day access to delightful old buses and trains. Go early and don't waste the day. Refreshments are available on the railway and there is a busy pub close to North Weald Station called the Kings Head. Real ale, of course!

Shopping - Try Chelmsford - A thriving and rejuvenated town centre with a new John Lewis and, of course, many eating places. Also shopping malls at Westfield at Stratford, Lakeside (on the Thames Estuary!) and Bluewater across the Thames in Kent.

This is a great day out when stay at the Great Barn and just 20 minutes away!

The barn is 20 minutes away from the Olympic white water rapids at Waltham Abbey. The viewing area is a sun trap with alcoholic drinks and food available and free entry and parking Unbelievable! Pay it a visit!
