Normandy offers a perfect location near to home for KS2 & KS3 History.

Standing where soldiers landed helps students connect emotionally with the realities of World War II. The chance to see real bunkers, landing craft remains and memorials, visits to the D Day beaches, cemeteries and viewing the engineering feat that is Mulberry Harbour all spark powerful discussions.

And away from WWII is the Bayeux Tapestry, a 70-metre masterpiece giving a direct window into the Norman conquest of 1066. It’s a brilliant talking point for medieval warfare, storytelling, and source analysis.

A recent 3 day tour to Bristol for a junior school was tailored to the needs of our client. We are always mindful that tours involving younger pupils may mean that it is the first time many of the children have travelled without their parents.

While rugby was the order of the day with two busy days playing rugby at Clifton College and local rugby clubs, pupils on this tour also enjoyed Hollywood Bowl, Bella Italia and - the highlight of the trip – a visit to the Principality Stadium to watch Wales vs South Africa! WOW! Something the boys talked about for many weeks after the tour had ended.

Explore the Google, Meta and Apple visitor centres in San Francisco with our Computer Science itinerary!

Energy levels might be flagging for pupils - and teachers and parents - as we head towards the end of the longest term.

Finding Nemo film is full of wisdoms - and "Just keep swimming" is one of our favourites. The positive effect sport has on mental health is well documented and we love to see young people throwing themselves into sports on our tours.

While lacrosse in the USA, DT in Germany and Art in Venice are wonderful opportunities, many of our trips are closer to home - particularly those for younger students.

Jersey is a favourite - but we recently took Surrey girls to Bristol for a fantastic 3 day trip of football, netball and cricket.

October half term is always popular for educational and sports tours and we've had a full on few weeks sending hoards of pupils off on trips far and wide.

We love this photo sent in by Cavalieri Rugby Club in Florence following a match between Cavalieri Union Rugby U18 and Mount Kelly U18.
kelly booked their rugby tour to Rome and Florence this half term through Sweet Chariot. Sadly they lost this match 26-31, but won their other 2 matches! Well done lads.

Aside from rugby they visited the Colosseum, did a cookery class 👨‍🍳 and went go karting 🏎 - which apparently got pretty competitive!

We are long term supporters of the incredible I Can & I Am – a charity that helps young people build self belief and resilience with workshops on their pizza-making double decker buses as well as with online resources and talks at schools across the UK.

I Can’s message focuses on what children and young people CAN do and building self belief in young people is crucial to their long term positive mental health.

This message ties in with what we do here at Sweet Chariot - our trips enable pupils to explore and grow in a safe environment, enjoying sport, a wider educational experience, activities and travel.
