This is Greyfriars Bobby. He was a little Skye Terrier who became one of Edinburgh’s greatest legends. After his owner, a nightwatchman named John Gray, passed away in 1858, Bobby refused to leave his grave in Greyfriars Kirkyard.
Day after day, season after season, he stayed by his master’s side for 14 years, until his own passing in 1872. Locals fed him, loved him, and eventually honored him with this statue🐕✨
🐾 If you’re ever near the Greyfriars gate, stop and say hello. It’s tradition to touch his nose for luck✨
