Eyemouth Museum

Eyemouth Museum Open April to October each year - please visit our website for our current opening hours

Eyemouth Museum is based in the centre of the town and documents the fishing and social heritage of Eyemouth, brought to life in its exhibits and through stories from local people. Central to the museum is the famous Eyemouth Tapestry that commemorates the Great East Coast Fishing Disaster of 1881, known as Black Friday, when 129 Eyemouth men lost their lives at sea. The tapestry was hand crafted

by 24 local women and took 2 years to complete and is truly a sight to behold. As a museum, tourist information centre, exhibition gallery and gift shop, we're sure you'll find more than one reason to visit Eyemouth Museum.

Our Coffee Morning on Saturday went extremely well and we are delighted to share that with all your support, we raised the amazing sum of £705!! We are so grateful to all our Trustees & Volunteers who helped in the lead up and on the day, to our bakers and donators and to the Eyemouth Hippodrome for providing such a great venue. Special thanks to Alison Davidson, the coffee making (and drop scone making) Queen and of course to each and every one of you who came along and supported this vital fundraising event. All your donations go towards sustaining Eyemouth Museum, thank you.

There are big changes afoot in our shop this week ahead of our re-opening for the season next week! We've started by letting the light in from our magnificent stained glass windows - visitors can also now view these stunning panels from indoors as well as out. Big thank you to Lannagan Building&Development for all their work so far. Keep watching this space for more changes and improvements!

Gunsgreen Trust needs your help.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We’re asking for your help.

A key part of our submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund is understanding what Gunsgreen means to the local community and how people would like to see it develop in the future.
We’ve already gathered some valuable feedback through questionnaires at our events, but we now need to widen this conversation and hear from more people. Your views and ideas are incredibly important and will help ensure the community’s voice is properly represented.

Please take a few minutes to complete our short questionnaire using the link below. Every response helps and will directly inform our funding application.
