Was just remembering my 41 years in Cornwall & the boats I’ve owned so far.
Boats I’ve owned, since 1984:
◦ Tarlissa 16’ fishing boat, St ives, SS? - bought from Paul Osborne (Ozzy)’s brother & refurbed in John Stringer’s yard, increased the freeboard & went to MAFF at Newlyn to get a licence to catch mackerel, best ever was 98 stone, unfortunately only 20p per stone.
◦ Orion, Treeve 25, fishing & diving, SS273 - bought from Alfie Lugg 50/50 ownership with me dad. Lister ST2, tiller steering. Replaced engine twice: first with an STW3, hydraulic gearbox, then with a Lister Alpha. Wish we had kept the STW3. Great memories of catching mackerel with me dad, John Harry & all. Loads of diving wrecks off N Coast. This was the first boat my daughter, Alice ever stepped aboard.
◦ RIB 1 - black tubes, dive boat, can’t remember the name.
◦ RIB2 - Orange, from Nottingham, dive boat again. Ditto.
◦ RIB 3 - Orange - from the bloke that owned Dale’s Motors, best RIB I owned, only sold to get a hard boat, this was the Tamar 2000
◦ Hobbit, Cygnus 19
◦ Colvic Seaworker Gerrick, Mercedes diesel inboard
◦ Lady Jean, Fast fisher 26, bought from Sea Structures, Plymouth. AKA Sea Creatures!
◦ Lady Victoria, Mitchell 31, Mk2, fishing, diving & motor cruiser
◦ Lady Alice, Hardy 24 fast fisher
◦ Clarion, Hardy 24, fast fisher
◦ 16’ Fishing boat with outboard
◦ Plover, Plymouth Pilot 18
◦ Morpheus, Seaward 25, motor cruiser
◦ Magenta, Seaward 25, motor cruiser
◦ Magenta , Drascombe Lugger, 19’ sailing boat
◦ Perla, Channel Island 32, motor cruiser
◦ Yakima, Aquastar 38, motor cruise
Where has all that gone?
