So, in 3 weeks time Falmouth will be hosting National Armed Forces Day ❤️ which is an annual celebration and 'thank you' to all of those in our Armed Forces.
It runs on 23/24/25 June and is expected to be the biggest event to ever happen in Falmouth (pray for sunshine 🙏🏼)
The main day is the Saturday, highlights of which are a huge military parade starting at the moor at 11am and finishing at events square, a TWO HOUR aerial spectacular along Falmouths seafront including a parachute display, the Red Arrows and various aircraft showing off their amazing skills❤️ (starts around 2pm and best viewed between the point and far right of Gylly Beach)
There are military stands, free music stages, charity stands, a food village (on Custom House Quay), a naval frigate in the docks you can go on (time slots will need to be booked online) military vehicles/paraphernalia throughout the town and a concert up at the castle (free tickets need to be obtained online, keep checking for updates) culminating in a huge fireworks display at the point… 100,000 people are expected to visit the event, so much of Falmouth (including the carparks) will be closed off to cars, although there is a subsidised park and ride up at Tremough and busses and trains will run late into the night…
The next couple of weeks will see alot more information added to the webpage below and leaflets and information boards will start to appear around town…so watch the space, its gonna be epic…
Come prepared with water, sunscreen and collapsible chairs if you plan to watch the display and keep praying for sunshine!!! Whoop!☀️
