I can't ignore riding past places like this and not finding out more info..it's fascinating stuff and guessing the majority simply ride past it.

LaunchPad is literally yards from this place (one of FoD's dedicated blue runs).

Five mins of googling and I think it's called: Lady Slad Freemine Lower Adit (is that where the name for the Red route came from🤔 Freeminers). There's also an Upper Slad Freemine too which is situated further up the hill to the left..Disused coalmine entrance/exit?

Looks like there's a ton more of these to find.

Would love to know more info on this.. so off to do some Internet digging

Are you a beginner or just fancy some decent flow?

Here's a minute you'll never get back 😁 but I can guarantee riding this is 100% percent better than watching it!

Countdown at the Forest of Dean is one of their dedicated 'blue' downhill runs - and I absolutely love this section, plus it's great run to start with if you're new to MTB or simply fancy a flow trail.

It's spits you out a stones throw from Launch Pad (closed at the mo)... but if you follow the firetrack up to the left for a few hundred yards you'll be able to connect back with the blue/red XC routes that take you back to the centre..

Heading westbound to Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight - I'm obsessed with riding the Isle of Purbeck (stunning Jurassic coast views, quaint villages and rolling hills) and these bridleways on the south west of the island are very similar 🤔... so thought I'd go see!

Done some digging and from what I can gather roughly 8/9000 years ago the dinosaurs had a fight with the cavemen, they all wet themselves which in turn flooded the area thus creating the Solent & Isle of Wight 😁
