After 36 years of active diving and cave diving its time to put my experience back into the diving world. I come from a dry caving background and am an examiner and Training Officer Somerset section with the Cave Diving Group. Bergwerk Felicitas and Nuttlar in Germany over the last two days. Two dives and nearly six hours in the water on CCR with Robert Thomas. The construction of both of the mines is of a modern layout so very different to the Black Gold mines of North Wales. Great to check these sites out and chat with local mine divers. Information collected and more plans forming as normal.

I’m Thinking to run a TDI Technical Rescue Diver Course this Winter 2026/2027 . I expect for many rescue skills have not been covered since open water rescue diver training. This is a rather physically challenging training course, but being able to save or assist a dive team member in extremis is a skill that you can sit with your team and a drink after and contemplate the outcome.
So I’ve got an idea of who if any are interested. Drop me a message or just reply to the post.

TDI ANDP training at Vobster 4-5-6 September 2026. Divers if you are considering extending your diving exploration range onto deeper wrecks into longer caves or thinking down the line to move onto CCR then Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures is a skill set to help turn that dream into action. Robert Thomas and I are running a mini tech ANDP camp. Two instructors with the benefits of group discussion and planning. This weekend training is 50% full

Three days of diving over the last week to start Tyler Mitchell TDI full cave. As a young diver we have opted to run this training as more of an apprenticeship over the summer in the UK with the diver practicing and consolidating skills between formal training. Tyler is also a CDG TD diver and working hard on dry caving experience in South Wales. Much hard work and in water time so far. Keep up the good work and see you later in the year.
