We do however kindly ask dog owners to follow a few guidelines:

🤎 No consistent barking
🤎 No paws on the furniture
🤎 No feeding dogs from our crockery

You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter than usual on here recently. We have been making some big decisions about the future of the business and unfortunately from Saturday 26th of August we have decided to close our shop in No.12, the village grocery store.

This isn't a decision we have taken lightly but as a small family run business we are struggling to staff and maintain the two shops.

It’s not all doom and gloom though as we will be aiming to change how we run the deli at No.10 to merge the two shops into one so we can continue providing most of the amazing Yorkshire goodies from there, along with our freshly baked treats and takeaway sandwiches. However, we have made the unfortunate decision to stop selling fruit and veg.

We wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for all your support over the years and will keep you updated on our plans for the future of our shop in No.10.

The Annual American Car and Classic Vehicle Show

The White Swan Hunmanby

If you are a bit of a ‘petrol head’ or just like to stroke the beautiful bonnet of a classic car or pretty petrol tank on a classic bike, then locally there is an event just for you.
And, you will be helping a very worthy cause too.
To raise money for the amazing Air Ambulance this event takes place in Hunmanby Sunday 16 July.
Just £1 and you can look (and maybe even touch) one of the beautiful classics that will be on show.

Jan Scotcher-Husband will be there to cover the event for Filey Bay Today, and Steve will be the photographer for us.

Last weekend we rescued 16 tortoise from one house.
Unfortunately the owner had past away and the family did not know how to look after them, so they made the correct decision to re home them.
Upon receipt and a good health check:
One was already dead and had been for a while.
One has a very loose area of its shell (at the vets on Friday we will keep you updated)
All the rest were dehydrated and in need of a serious nail and beak clip.
The breeds in this latest lot consist of:
🐢Horsefield tortoise
🐢Herman tortoise
🐢Indian star tortoise
🐢 pancake tortoise
They now have a forever home with us and will shortly be out in our new walk through tortoise enclosure.

Still want to stroke the ‘Kitty’? 🐆 😂 🐈

We often overhear visitors say how cute our Asian Leopard Cat, Jango, is. While we agree and he is usually fairly placid (if food isn’t involved) he is most definitely not a pet!

Here he is letting the keeper know he didn’t like having the plants in his enclosure pruned!
