Hi there. I’m trying to find out more about my family on my granddad’s side who I believe lived in five mile town. My surname is Carruth and any information would be really helpful.
My grandfather was William John Carruth born there we think and left age 4. Parents we think we’re William and not sure about my great grandmother. He had an older sister and younger brother called Rebecca and Victor. Victor was born in Dublin though so likely not known there.

Would anyone know anything abt this cottage,in Fivemiletown, it had belonged to my grandfather ..my dad George kidney wa...

Hi I’m looking for family in Fivemiletown. Family name is Irwin. Violet Irwin she married an English soldier and moved to England after the 2nd world war and had 2 sons Frank and Irwin, her sister was Margaret who also moved away to Newcastle any info would be very much appreciated xx

Hi, We'll be in Fivemiletown in May and would like any information on John McGeary (M'Geary) (1849-1921) who was married to Ann Monaghan and had three children: John Stanislaus, Kathleen, and Maureen. They had a farm at Murley Cross across from the schoolhouse. My husband father and grandfather were baptized at the Church. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Janet

Thank you I will try my best as I don’t no to much just my grandfather came from the town and move to Blackpool in the war his name was Samuel young his family own business in the town the hotel as in the original letter head from the hotel the shop and an undertakers my dad had told me about all the marble that had to be left behind, my grandfather raced greyhounds and trained them and had many champions one of the most famous being maiden’s boy they move to Blackpool in the war and opened a new hotel the my dad and sister were born there sadly I am my brother of the last of the Youngs as I got married and have now changed name my brother is the last I have boys and I’ve given them double barrel surnames but it’s sad to see that they will be the last it will be wonderful to be able to give them more information here’s a picture of Madden‘s boy along with all the many trophies he won gold and silver.
