The 2026 season is in full swing & lots of you guests are looking to get away and are looking for a break for a good price. Scammers take advantage of this and will offer whatever you are looking for.

From years of experience, what concerns me is that someone like myself (who is a legitimate letting agent with over 500 โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธreviews & has been letting for 13 years) will post my link on a post by a guest asking for dates and I get ignored. ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Yet some random person pops up with the comment โ€œI have those datesโ€ and gets an instant response. They then inbox the details which are false and the person wanting a break is scammed out of their money.

If someone offering you accommodation only wants to give details by inbox it will be a SCAM. They do this so genuine owners canโ€™t spot its a scam and warn you. โŒ

Every year I have multiple messages from people who have been scammed in this way. ๐Ÿคฌ Some rental groups have no active admin so anyone can join. This makes it so easy for the scammers to operate.

Make sure you book with someone who has a clear history of reviews etc. Please spend your money with someone who is genuine and doesnโ€™t have to hide what they have to offer. Spending a little more will stop you from losing your hard earned money.
