Great work at Girvan Tourist Information & Craft Shop recognised by SCOTO.

Last week, our online gathering brought together SCOTO Networkers from all corners of Scotland to discuss Community-Led Tourism Information Centres. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout, with participants joining from North Ronaldsay to Isle of Rum and from Langholm to Helensburgh.

These community-led hubs, operated by either paid staff or volunteers, are sustained primarily through retail income: sale of local, authentic arts and crafts, alongside maps and books. These centres not only offer a warm, friendly welcome to visitors, but also play a vital role in supporting the local economy.

Thank you to all who came, and especially Discover Cullen, Girvan Tourist Information & Craft Shop and Loch Ness Hub & Travel for presenting.
