😍 Wow! I’ve completely fallen in love with this stunning luxury boutique hotel.
I’ve just returned from a 4 night stay at Caramel, A Grecotel Resort to Live in Crete and honestly, I didn’t want to leave.
In a world of huge, busy all inclusive resorts, Grecotel Caramel really does offer something very different.
With just 86 rooms across suites, maisonettes and villas, it feels intimate, elegant and wonderfully relaxed. The moment we arrived there was a sense of calm and relaxation.
Our Sea View Junior Suite was absolutely stunning. Spacious, beautifully designed and effortlessly stylish. The handmade floor tiles, crisp white linens and luxurious bathroom with its huge walk in shower created exactly the sort of space you look forward to returning to after a day in the sun.
But what made this hotel truly special wasn’t just the room and our incredible view.
It was the amazing people who work so hard to really look after you and take care of every need to make sure your stay is everything you want and expect.
The hospitality was some of the warmest and most genuine I’ve experienced anywhere in Greece. Every member of the team seemed to genuinely care that guests were having a wonderful time. The service was attentive and thoughtful without ever feeling formal or intrusive.
🫒 The food was another standout.
Breakfast featured local ingredients, fresh produce and à la carte options alongside the freshly prepared buffet.
Dinner in the main restaurant was buffet style too, but unlike many buffet restaurants, the quality was exceptional. Freshly prepared dishes, local flavours and plenty of variety every evening.
We stayed on a half board basis and one afternoon we swapped dinner for lunch and enjoyed the most wonderful three course meal by the pool. Freshly prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.
🌿 We also spent an evening at Agreco Farm, Grecotel’s traditional Cretan farm experience. The setting was beautiful, the food outstanding and it offered a wonderful insight into the local traditions and ingredients that Grecotel are so passionate about.
🎂 My birthday happened to fall during our stay and we celebrated with dinner in the Gourmet Restaurant.
✨ The whole evening was nothing but magical.
Beautiful food, impeccable service and local Greek musicians whose music transported me straight back to childhood summers in Greece. It was one of those evenings that reminds you why travel experiences matter so much.
🥂 Returning to our room afterwards to find birthday cake and a bottle of fizz waiting for me was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely surprise too.
There were several guests celebrating birthdays during our stay and every single one was made to feel special. It’s these small details that guests remember long after they return home.
💛I also loved how the hotel balances boutique luxury with family travel.
There were babies, toddlers and young families throughout the resort, yet it never felt busy, noisy or overwhelming.
The Grecoland Kids Club looked fantastic, there was yoga on the lawn overlooking the sea, Pilates, aqua fitness, a beautiful spa and plenty to keep everyone entertained.
This is exactly the sort of hotel I recommend to families who want luxury, space and exceptional service but don’t want the atmosphere of a large, busy all inclusive resort.
👌 During my stay I was also fortunate enough to view some of the other accommodation categories including the Sea View Suite and both the two and three bedroom villas, which were absolutely spectacular.
The more Grecotel properties I visit, the more I understand that every resort has its own personality. Choosing the right one is about far more than simply picking a hotel on a website. There is a hotel for everyone depending on what you want from your time away.
😎 If you’re looking for a stylish, boutique luxury resort in Crete with exceptional food, genuine Greek hospitality and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, Grecotel Caramel should absolutely be on your shortlist.
