Scotland.
What can I say?
I'll be honest, I didn't know anything about Glasgow before this trip, and the only things I had heard, were I guess, what you might conjure up from how someone might describe a "stereotypical Scotland".
I had visions of a drab city ποΈ with dour, deep fried loving people dotted about on street corners.
But my goodness, how wrong I was!
At first, you might be forgiven for thinking you'd have landed in Amsterdam! Cycle paths that hugged alongside the riverbed, that were clearly well travelled. I even felt our hour-long walk alongside the river Clyde pailed in comparison to the vibrant, healthy and fit people of Glasgow!
The graffiti walls that served as a beautiful backdrop against the water saw artists handiwork in full bloom, all allowed by the council to showcase that graffiti is art too!
Glasgow town, oh, the buildings, the history and the architecture, everywhere you turned, the city is steeped in history and culture right alongside the new, the cute metropolitan vibe, they sit side by side, it doesn't clash, it compliments.
Glasgow was never really on my radar of places to tick off on my bucket list, but I definitely recommend you add it to yours!
