Adrian and guests had a wonderful day in the romantic splendour of the Borders, with its fascinating history of hardy families, enhanced in tales by that great genius Sir Walter Scott. They took in Scott's View and splendid statue of William Wallace tucked in a wood en route to Dryburgh Abbey, where Scott lies buried in the Haliburton plot next to General Haig of WWI surrounded by magnificent trees. It was over to Melrose for lunch then on to the innovative Borders Distillery in Hawick. A perfect day.
