The House of the Tailor is now staffed by volunteers who are both enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Beatrix Potter and her works. The museum and shop are open to the public daily from Monday – Saturday 10am to 4.30pm and Sunday noon until 4pm (Closed Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

We're sad to learn of the death of Dolly Parton.

As well as being a musical icon, Dolly made a monumental impact on child literacy by founding Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 1995. Driven by her desire to help children fall in love with reading, she affectionately became known to millions of children around the world as "The Book Lady".

Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Peter Rabbit is the official "Welcome Book" given to every child who joins Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the UK.

The story below shows her giving the one millionth book from the UK Imagination Library to a young lad from Liverpool in 2014.
