Close Encounter of the Fox Kind!

A couple of nights ago whilst out looking for Owls I saw something at the corner of my eye in the field next to me - a Beautiful Fox.
He was heading my way so i got low and hid behind a gate and the next thing I knew he was right in front of me, a real stunner in stunning condition.

*AMAZING OTTER EXPERIENCE*
Last week whilst out with some guests we had the privilege to watch one of the local Otters for 20mins with his Eel Breakfast. I had no idea the eels were so big in the river.

Beautiful creatures and we are very lucky the reside in the area.

🌿 Spot the Summer Aerial Acrobats! ☀️
I Often get asked - "How do you tell if its a Swallow, Martin or Swift"
Here’s a quick guide to the four aerial insectivores found in the UK:

Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) Family Order - Hirundinidae
Sleek with long, deeply forked tail streamers and a rusty red throat. Graceful fliers of open country nesting in Barns, stables or similar structures on a small shelf.

House Martin (Delichon urbicum) Family Order - Hirundinidae
Look for white rump, glossy blue-black back & short forked tail. Often nests under house eaves in a cup shaped nest made of mud.

Sand Martin (Riparia riparia) Family Order - Hirundinidae
Smallest of the bunch, with brown back & a distinct dark breast band. Nests in riverbanks or sandy cliffs.

Swift (Apus apus) - Family Order - Apodiformes (i.e. Hummingbirds)
Scythe-shaped wings & dark brown body. Always in flight—screaming overhead—nests high in buildings in small gaps under eaves or tiles.

One of my favourite places to watch Kingfishers is at the Coppa Club Streatley they like to sit on the wooden bridge to the side of the river terrace.

Also it’s a good spot to look out for Otters - grab a takeaway coffee from the Swan Cafe and head out to the garden. Good luck

3 Places have become available on Fridays Kingfisher Hide Workshop due to guest illness.

We are offering a £50 discount on Friday 2nd May's Workshop at 8am in Streatley, West Berks.

Less than 1hr from London Paddington and 12 minutes from Reading by train, we will even pick you up from the station.

Free parking, toilets and café all on site courtesy of the amazing so all you need to bring is your camera.

The workshop includes a 60-90minute riverside walk where we go looking for some of the local Kingfishers and learn all about them, we may even see an Otter - then you have until 4pm in the Hide where we provide full camera tuition, hints and tips to get an amazing photo.

If not a photographer or can’t do all day just join us for the riverside walk contact us for a £10 discount normally £35pp
