𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀

The Meadowlands township lies on the outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Life for residents can be challenging due to lack of opportunity, education and employment. For young people, the lure of the street is often hard to resist.

Thanks to the efforts of UK-based charity Hashtag Big Smile, 120 boys and girls aged between 9 and 17 are being given the opportunity to change their lives through sport.

Following an intensive programme of football training, match-playing and community service, they're inspired to work together, respect one another and to channel their positivity and energy back into the community - all for a cost of just £3.50 per child, per month.

Santa 🎅 & his happy helpers took 150 toys 🧸 for sick children in hospital today to give some smiles 😃 & money donated /raised to feed 200 .. supported by & the local 🇿🇦community 💖
