Badgers are eating all the apples , the ground is so hard it will be a while before they get earthworms.
Plenty of wildlife is coming out early to maximise feeding time as it’s so dry

So glad to have this local, the people running it are passionate locals and incredibly welcoming.
Just a 4 minute drive from our cottages or a 25 minute walk along the footpaths… and it’s dog friendly!

Six weeks ago we opened the doors to a new chapter at The Black Lion.

And honestly, we could never have imagined what these six weeks would look like.

The support, the busy nights, the pizzas, the sunsets, the new faces, the familiar ones… you’ve completely blown us away. ♥️

Now we’re ready to start planning lots more.

And what better way to kick things off than with Bank Holiday weekend? 👀

Wildlife cam, I thought there was only one but then I saw the extra eyes!!!!

Our redpoll cattle grazing the water meadows outside pencil pot. We move them around giving flora a chance to spring up once they have grazed an area.
When they leave a field the dung beetles do their work and birdlife flourishes
We aim for some grass to be trodden down and some grazed.
The trodden grass provides a hiding place for voles and means successful feeding opportunities for kestrels and owls
Our kestrels have a second brood this year which is very exciting!
