If you were to book a tour, would you go for a small group with a more intimate feel and fewer people or a larger group with a big, buzzy atmosphere?

There is no right or wrong answer, it is all about what suits you best.When we look at tours, we always think about things like group size, pace and style so you end up with a trip that actually feels like “you”.

One of the best things about a good tour?

You get to see so much without having to spend hours working out how to get from A to B. Someone else has done the organising, the hotels are sorted, the itinerary is planned and you’ve got a guide who knows the destination.

Which means you can actually concentrate on enjoying it and that’s probably why we’re seeing so many people who have never considered a tour before starting to give them a go.

Would you travel on your own?

Solo tours are becoming SO popular at the moment and we’re getting more and more enquiries from people thinking about giving one a go. And travelling solo doesn’t necessarily mean travelling alone.

You’ve got a group around you, everything is organised and you get to meet people along the way, but you still get that feeling of doing something for yourself.
The biggest thing for us is making sure we put you on the right tour with the right type of group.

What actually makes a good tour?

For us, it’s not just about how many places you can tick off in a week. We look at the itinerary, how busy the days are, the hotels, the travel between places, how much free time you get and what sort of experience the tour is actually going to give you.
Because two tours can visit exactly the same country and be completely different experiences.

That’s why we always say don’t just look at the price and the itinerary.

Are group tours becoming more popular?

We’re definitely seeing more and more people asking us about group tours and we can see why! They’re a great way to see somewhere new without having to worry about organising every little thing yourself, and you also get to meet other people along the way.

And they’re not just for solo travellers either. We have couples, friends and people travelling on their own all looking at tours.

For us, the important thing is making sure we put you on the right tour for you. The itinerary, the pace, the group size, the type of accommodation and even the sort of people the tour attracts can all make a difference.That’s where having us in your corner really helps.

Dean is off to Vietnam next week!

One of team, Dean, has kindly been invited by Wide eyed Tours and Travel to experience Vietnam next week on 8 day trip travelling from Hanoi down to Hoi An and we thought we’d share what he’s got planned!

The trip starts in Hanoi, staying at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, with a Jeep/Vespa tour around the city before heading to Ha Long Bay for an overnight cruise on Bhaya Soul.

Then it’s down to Hue, staying at the Silk Path Grand Hue Hotel & Spa, with a countryside scooter tour, the Citadel and Forbidden Purple City on the itinerary.
From Hue, the journey continues over the spectacular Hai Van Pass, with a stop at Marble Mountain, before finishing in Hoi An at Namia Retreat River, staying in a Nipa Pool Villa.

There’s also a local market and cooking experience, coconut boats and plenty of time to experience the culture, food and scenery along the way.

The great thing is that Dean has taken this exact trip and packaged it up as a tour for followers of our page, so if Vietnam is somewhere you’ve always fancied visiting, this could be one to have a look at.
