A quick scroll on Instagram or TikTok can take you from one dream destination to the next 🌍

And whilst it’s incredible to have all of this at our fingertips…

we’re also seeing something interesting happening.

More choice… doesn’t always mean more clarity.

80% of people say holidays are important for their mental health. But for us, travel has always been about something even bigger than that. ❤️

Looking back through old family photos recently, I found pictures from holidays I was lucky enough to take as a child. At the time, I didn't realise what those trips were giving me.

They weren't just holidays.
They were the first time I experienced a different culture. The first time I saw how people lived on the other side of the world. The first time I understood that there was a much bigger world waiting to be explored.

Those experiences sparked something that stayed with me.
Years later, that curiosity led me backpacking across Asia, standing in front of the Taj Mahal, becoming an au pair in Italy, learning a new language, and meeting people whose stories and perspectives changed the way I see the world.

Travel is a privilege, and I'm incredibly grateful for every opportunity I've had.
But what stands out most isn't the landmarks.

It's the people. The conversations. The shared meals. The moments that become family stories years later.
That's why what we do matters to us.

Whether it's a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, a special family holiday, or simply precious time away together, travel gives us something far more valuable than a week in the sun- it gives us memories, connection, and experiences that stay with us for life.

✈️ June Travel Update: what no one’s really telling you…
Everyone’s talking about holidays right now… but the way people are booking is changing 👀

We’re seeing more travellers holding off and booking closer to departure for summer 2026- which means the best last-minute availability is moving fast in the background.
So if you’ve been “thinking about it”… this might be your moment.

✈️ Is travel actually okay right now?
Short answer: yes- but let’s unpack it properly.

Here’s what’s really happening in travel right now:
- Fuel prices are still elevated due to ongoing global tensions, which is keeping flight costs higher
- Airlines are tweaking schedules as usual for the season (adding some routes, adjusting others)
- Demand for travel is still incredibly strong across Europe and long-haul

BUT here’s what you don’t need to worry about:
👉 Flights are operating normally
👉 UK airports are fully running as usual
👉 Holidays are going ahead exactly as planned

So while headlines sound intense, the reality is far more stable:
✨ Travel is very much happening
✨ Summer is in full swing
✨ Nothing is stopping people getting away

I used to think cruises just weren’t really for me. 🚢

I always imagined feeling a bit stuck on a ship, with not much space or freedom.
genuinely changed that view.
It felt relaxed, easy, and nothing like the idea I had in my head. No feeling of being “stuck” - just lots of choice and a pace that worked for you.

You can do a lot… or do very little. And both feel completely right.

It won’t be for everyone, and that’s okay.
But if you’ve ever written cruising off completely, it might be worth another look.

Where have we been? 👀

If you've noticed we've been a little quiet on social media lately, there's a very good reason...

The last couple of weeks have been absolutely non-stop!

First up, I (Brittany) finally ticked something off my travel wish list and went on my very first cruise... and naturally, it had to be a Virgin Voyage! 🚢

For the first time since we started the business, I properly switched off. No emails. No itineraries. No to-do lists. Just relaxing, eating amazing food, and enjoying life at sea.

Well... that was the plan anyway.

As soon as I started to unwind, I came down with a bug! 🤦‍♀️

Thankfully, I still managed to make the most of it. There were spa visits, plenty of delicious food, lazy afternoons, and some beautiful ports along the way including Rome, Salerno, Cannes, Ibiza and Barcelona.

Even though I wasn't feeling 100%, I absolutely loved the experience. If anything, it's given me the perfect excuse to go back and do it all again properly! 😏

Meanwhile, while I was off gallivanting around the Mediterranean, Mum (Michelle) was holding the fort back home.

She's been working flat out checking clients in for flights, making sure every detail is in place for a wedding abroad happening next week, and creating some incredible itineraries.

From helping a couple plan an unforgettable adventure through India to organising another Thailand trip for clients who loved their holiday so much last month that they're already heading back!

That's the reality behind the scenes here at Mumford's Not Just Travel. Sometimes we're exploring the destinations ourselves, sometimes we're planning dream trips from our desks, but we're always working to make travel feel effortless for our clients.

Now we're both back, fully reunited, and ready for a very exciting summer ahead. ☀️
