Our historic Castle has stood for centuries, and what it must have seen come and go over the years...!!

We feel very privileged to be custodians of this building, and to be able to share some of the history about the Castle with our visitors.

Why not pay us a visit to find out more, you can dress up as a king or queen for a quick selfie, and perhaps do one of our activity sheets?

The Spike. is open today from 10am to 4pm (last tour at 3pm).

All visitors to the Spike are given a tour of the Heritage area of the building. The tour usually starts outside in the car park where the origin of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act (aka the New Poor Law) is discussed. It also gives the visitor an opportunity to take in the vastness of the Guildford Poor Law site which eventually extended to some 9½ acres.

Students & 6 to 18 year olds – £6
