Guildford Town Guides The Voluntary Town Guides provide walking tours that show and explain the town to thousands of people each year.

The most popular walking tour is the Historical Tour of the town. This includes a brief history from the earliest times with visits to the Abbot's Hospital, St Mary's Church, the Undercroft and the Castle grounds. In addition to the Historic Walking Tour, the Guides offer other walking tours on Medieval Guildford, Hidden Guildford, The River Wey and Lewis Carroll.

Half term is here and with some schools having TWO WEEKS we have just the thing for filling children's days with something fun and educational.
Explorers and Young Explorers! Our new walks for youngsters were so successful over the summer holidays we are reprising them for half term.
Join us at 11.45am.Thursday 22nd October for Explorers or Friday 23rd at noon for Young Explorers.
You get to go inside the Castle too!!!!! Oh yes you do!

Halloween is not far away. How are you marking the spooky season?

We are running Gruesome, Ghastly Guildford Walks to find out about the three Ps! Plagues, prisons and public executions! Throw in a bit of withcraft and you have the perfect combination for Halloween. Bring the whole family! Dress up in your spookiest outfit and let's do scary!! Well, that's it folks. What an incredible season of walks. What an amazing summer. It was hot, hot hot in every sense of the word!

Thank you to our wonderful guides who go above and beyond ensuring everyone has a great time and learns something new about our wonderful town

Thanks to our actors who make the encounter walks so very special.

Thanks to everyone behind the scenes who make the walks happen, make sure you know about them and do the admin.

This year for the first time we offered walks for the young and very young which were very popular so we will definitely be bringing you more walks. Thanks to our specialist guides for creating these in response to demand.

It is time to take a well earned break but keep an eye out for some Winter specials over the next few months.

There's places on just two walks now..
Saturday 26 Sept at 11 am - Guildford Story
and
Sunday 27 Sept at 11 am - Fake or Fortune
All other walks are full at this time. However, often we have last minute cancellations so do check nearer the time if Hidden Guildford or Medieval Guildford are on your wish list.
