We love a pub . We love a pub
Greystonedale is so lucky to have 4 pubs and a working men’s club and a licensed cafe and two hotels within five minutes walk .
The Jubilee is Haltwhistle own Flatiron building and a great sports bar .
The Railway has been refreshing weary travellers and locals since Victorian times . Lush
The Black Bull is possibly Haltwhistle’s oldest building and does food Thursday to Sunday.
Jethros is a favourite cafe where you can enjoy a drink 🥃 with your food 🥘.
The Manor and Centre of Britain are both Bastle Houses you have to look inside (secret passageways, tunnels and hidden staircases) and both serve food and drinks 7 days a week .
Brew bar serves coffee and food during day , beer and cocktails at night.
The Comerades club welcomes Visitors but if you’re here for a long stay they like you to take up membership.
British Pubs they are the life blood of any community you can get coffee s and non alcoholic refreshments.
Our visitors whether a hen do or family group or doctors celebrating end of term are loving the pubs .
As chairwoman of chamber of trade visitor spending makes me so happy.
After a day out nothing nicer than a drink and some bar snacks and a chat .

The Mile Castle Inn and Blenkinsopp Castle are a short drive and both do food and well worth the drive .
Lovely to come back to a gorgeous quirky gothic mansion with 13 mates .

Bridgerton, Downtown Abbey , pride and prejudice, Peaky Blinders we all love a period drama . Imagine living your own for a weekend or mid week break .
We have has Flapper girl murder mystery, cowgirls Hen. Do , Peaky Blinders boys weekend.
You can walk to Haltwhistle and mingle with the local take in the waters .
You can don your bathing suits and have a dip in the heated outdoor pool .
There are lots of castles and statley homes nearby and Beamish Museum is 45 minutes away .

Castle Thirlwell is two miles away a beautiful ruin with buried treasure.
That’s I’d you want to leave our beautiful Gothic mansion stuffed with gorgeous things , games etc . Take a walk in our beautiful gardens. 1.2 acres .

Not only do we have a 14 gorgeous mansion full of fun .
We are two minutes from Haltwhistle stuffed to gunnels with independent shops , cafes , restaurants ,.pubs .
We are bang in centre of the best Roman sites and between Hadrian Wall
and North Pennines.
No wonder the bookings are ramping up .
It’s a massive thank you from us .
Remember our outdoor swimming pools are just behind Greystonedale .
Loads to visit nearby I’ve posted a small selection.
Every Thur in August there is a free history walk from Railway pub 10.30 am .

Family fun , returning guests , hen dos .
This week at Greystonedale .
We visited Vindolanda Roman Fort and
Gardens with Lilidorei .
We went magnet fishing in the river .
We had a fabulous day Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre a stones throw from the house .
We visited The Black Bull Haltwhistle and had treats from
Bonnie's , Jethros and bird cafe mmmm.
Haltwhistle is a two minute walk from our gorgeous 14 bed holiday let .
You can book during August for any days in autumn winter of 2026 with just £50 pounds deposit.

As Greystonedale is in Centre of Britain and sleeps 14 . We are a great base for exploring. Today we went to Carlisle we spent most of the day Tullie . We explored all of museum . The dinosaurs 🦕 wow . . The British Museum collection of The Northern Frontier was another fantastic experience specially the recent walls in Berlin, Gaza , Bangladesh, Mexico it really brought it home .
Women of the Pre Raphaelites was my favourite. 😻 sorry no photos.
The costume collection is what Tullie is famous for and didn’t disappoint.
Cafe was top notch for a coffee and scone .
Entry is free for children but dinasaur experience is £5 well worth it .
After a few shops and some bargains in charity shop we stopped for tea Sketch and Sip Carlisle in Carlisle Court .
Rupert absolutely loved his shark cocktail with blood 🩸.
Food was great we will definitely be back.
Home now to watch sewing bee 🐝 and my little mini Vivienne doing some clothes alternations.
Yesterday Rupert and Gina spent most of day in pool 🏊 Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre .

Birthday party , hen do , baby shower , wedding celebration, family holiday
We are a beautiful gothic mansion two minutes walk from delightful Haltwhistle with pubs , independent shops a heated outdoor swimming pool 🏊.
Hadrian Wall is at top of hill with best walks on the planet 🌍.
Can we have a better place for a holiday oh it’s centre of Britain.
It’s got an amazing road 🛣️ and rail links .

Just back from a wonderful weekend celebrating our 60 th and 80 th Birthdays with our besties John and Patricia Forster . It was so nice to spoil them for a change .We saw Il Divo at Edinburgh castle on Saturday wow and wow . then Sunday we had an amazing lunch Prestonfield House . We stayed here or our first anniversary and I think the spark that lit the candle . I’m
always trying to elevate Greystonedale and I’m so pleased with how she is looking.
Thank you Jess Comb Hill Cleaners and Nathan Palmer for looking after her whilst we were away we love and appreciate everything.
