A 10-night Borneo itinerary combining a mainland beach resort with a private island stay.
Your first five nights are at Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu, a large beachfront resort set on 400 acres, with a 3km white-sand beach and its own 64-acre nature reserve. There are more than 60 activities available, including kayaking, paddleboarding, nature walks and watersports, as well as guided experiences in the reserve where you can spot local wildlife.
There are also six hiking trails, several restaurants and a choice of pools, so it works well if you want a resort with plenty to do rather than simply a beach-and-pool stay.
Then itโs across to Gaya Island Resort, reached by boat, for another five nights surrounded by rainforest and the waters of the South China Sea.
