So, finally back in the UK to start my next adventure, thank you to all of you who posted kind words and hopefully we will have an opportunity to share my experiences over a brew in the new future.

Day 5 in Lukla, the weather has worsened and the airport is closed once again. Looks like another day insitu.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow as international flights might be jeopardised.

Lukla airport........ People are actually getting on cargo planes just to get out? Crazy?
The American and Japanese teams have returned from base camp and have tried to charter the AIRPORT!......... Kudos to the Nepalese government and staff they told them NO, get in the line!

This young man puts me to shame, he woke ME with a brew and told me how to put my bedding away.
It is about -5 each night in his house BUT he finds time,energy and motivation to ensure the fire doesn't go out HE'S BLOODY 3 years old!

So Lukla airport can process about 300 people a day, we have approx' 2.5k people waiting to get out.......... And about 300 film/tv/news idiots trying to interview climbers. It looks like we may be here longer than we thought.
Hiring a helicopter has risen from $600 to $2000 I guess market forces even work at 2800 masl

Quick update........my team are all back in lukla amongst the mayhem of folk trying to leave for Kathmandu. Its really difficult for me to post anything other than to convey my sincere, heartfelt sadness of the loss of such brave, strong, selfless Sherpas. Everest is a beautiful place that has lost part of its heart.
We will return, we will climb Everest.
