🚨 Last few spaces: SPECIAL Wildlife Vet Internship, South Africa 🇿🇦🐾

Dreaming of working with wildlife vets in Africa? This is your chance.

We’ve just launched an enhanced 2-week veterinary experience on a private reserve in South Africa and we’re down to the final few spaces.

✨ What makes this different?
• 4 vet sessions per week (not 2)
• Hands-on wildlife exposure
• Conservation work on a game reserve
• Small, like-minded group

📅 Dates:
3rd – 15th/16th August

💰 Reduced launch price: £2070 (usually £2299)

This is a one-off August intake only and the group is intentionally small, so once it’s full, that’s it.

This is not a zoo. 🐘

This is a wildlife sanctuary in Thailand where animals arrive after lives of exploitation, neglect and abuse. Monkeys who spent decades in cages. Elephants used for tourism. Tigers bred purely for photos.

Places like this exist to give rescued animals space, dignity and the chance to live without being used for entertainment. 🌿

There are no shows here.
No tricks.
No selfies with wildlife. 📸🚫

Just rehabilitation, care and respect for animals who deserve better. ❤️

Volunteers help support the daily work that keeps the sanctuary running, from preparing food to maintaining enclosures and supporting the long term care of rescued animals. 🐒

If you travel in Thailand, always think carefully about where your money goes and choose experiences that truly prioritise animal welfare. ✈️

You can volunteer here with Oyster Worldwide from 1 to 12 weeks.

Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at ski school? 🎿

Our ETC team (Outdoor Rangers) are a key part of the ski school operation on the mountain. They help keep the mountain — and our guests — safe, supporting lessons across the hill, managing equipment, and making sure everything runs smoothly throughout the day.

A big part of their role is overseeing the outdoor play areas, where their mountain knowledge and awareness help ensure both kids and adults can enjoy these spaces safely while still having an amazing time in the snow.

The best Outdoor Rangers bring enthusiasm, a strong interest in safety, physical strength, creativity, and a natural sense of protectiveness. It’s a hands-on role that requires people who are proactive, responsible, and genuinely care about creating a safe and fun environment for everyone on the mountain.

Because we only hire a couple of Outdoor Rangers each year, these roles are highly sought after and form a valued part of our ski school team.

📹 In this video, we speak with Jimmy, who now runs the ETC team. He originally headed out to Whistler 7 years ago as a ski instructor and now manages this important part of the ski school operation. The full interview will be available on our YouTube channel.

⏳ Applications close at the end of March, so if you’re thinking about joining us next winter, now’s the time to apply.

🇦🇺 Life on an Australian cattle station 🤠🐮

“Hi Georgie, I just wanted to say a big thank you for all that you have done to get me over here and have a job. I have been at my job nearly four weeks and I am really enjoying it! Not sure if I told you or not but it is a cattle farm around 4 hours west of Brisbane and I have been doing lots of cattle work and learning lots of new skills. My boss is real nice too which makes it better still. I am thinking until the end of April before starting my travelling and making my way back home eventually to rainy England. Was nice to meet you at the training farm and put a face to a name! Thanks once again, Greg”

Thanks for the feedback Greg! It was great to meet you at the training farm too. So good to hear you’re enjoying life on the farm in New South Wales ! 🇦🇺 ☀️

Great morning catching up with the leadership team at Whistler Kids — including Olivia, who first headed out with Oyster 7 years ago and is now part of the management team helping and supporting the new Oysters in their Ski School careers!

Also spotted: our ETCs (Outdoor Rangers) Maciej and Finlay geared up for their shifts at Tree Fort and Magic Castle in the sunshine at Whistler Blackcomb. Not a bad office view.

If you’re 18-30 and considering a ski season in Canada, this is what progression can actually look like - starting on the mountain and building real experience in kids’ programs, support roles, or instructor pathways.

We’ll be releasing more details on our ETC, Support, and Instructor positions and the day to days soon.

Keep an eye on this page — and if you’re serious about a ski season in Whistler this year, now’s the time to start planning and applying before roles shut end of March!

Do you love elephants? 🐘
Would you like to help care for animals who have been particularly badly treated in the past?

Our Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand gives you the opportunity to support rescued elephants for 1 to 12 weeks, or combine your stay with our wider Wildlife Sanctuary project, which runs all year round.

But let’s be clear : This is not an attraction. And this is not entertainment.

Working with the elephants here looks very different to what people imagine. Some of these elephants were deliberately blinded in the past to make them easier to control. One of them will only allow eye drops to be given while out on a walk. So that is how it’s done. On her terms, not ours.

Washing is not a “bath time experience” for volunteers. It is only for the older elephants, and only if they choose to come over for a little help keeping their skin healthy. When they’re done, they walk away. There is no forcing, no posing, no river bathing. That would be dangerous for both the elephants and the people, and it isn’t how proper care is done here.

Work is shaped around animals who have already had a lifetime of being controlled, used and exploited. Volunteering here is about supporting that work, not just consuming an experience.

Respecting boundaries. Listening to the animals. And accepting that real welfare often looks quiet, unglamorous and very human.

If this sounds like the kind of project you want to be part of, you can find full details and apply here 👇🏻

Today the Whistler kids got to meet Tesla 🐾 — and the real big cats of the slopes!

Being part of the Whistler team isn’t just about working with kids on the mountain. It’s about becoming part of the wider resort community - meeting the teams, the characters, and the people who make Whistler one of the world’s top ski destinations.

If you’re aged 18–25 and based in the UK, EUor Australia, this is more than a ski season job — it’s a chance to work abroad, build real experience, and live somewhere most people only ever visit.

Applications close in March for most roles.

If you’re looking to work a ski season in Nov 2026, now is the time to apply while visas are still available.

Don’t leave it too late — ski season planning starts now.

Thank you to our support rep who captured these great moments!
