✈️ To fly or not to fly? Here’s my honest take…
I’ve had a lot of you asking whether it’s safe to travel right now — and whether flights are likely to be cancelled. So here’s the clear, simple truth:
Yes, it is safe to travel.
And yes, most flights are operating completely normally.
The only real disruption at the moment is for flights to or via the Middle East, and I’m advising clients to avoid those routes until things settle.
🌴 So where can you go right now?
Honestly… loads of places. And with zero drama.
Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, the Caribbean, the USA, and all of Europe are operating as normal.
You just need the right routing.
I’ve even booked my own trip to Thailand — normally I’d fly Emirates via Dubai, but this time I’ve gone direct with Thai Airways. A little more expensive, but quicker, easier, and avoids the Middle East entirely.
The same applies to Maldives, Sri Lanka, Seychelles:
Go direct or use non‑Middle‑East hubs and you’re absolutely fine.
🛫 What to avoid for now
I wouldn’t book flights to or through the Middle East until things change.
Amazing airlines like Emirates and Etihad will be back on the table — just not right now.
🌎 If you want zero stress…
Go west this year.
The Caribbean is hot and sunny.
It’s a great year for Disneyworld.
If Maldives was the dream, Mauritius is a brilliant direct alternative.
Australia? Easy — go via the Far East or even the USA.
Or stay in Europe — Turkey and Cyprus are safe and fully operational.
💷 A quick note on prices
Flights are a little higher than last year thanks to fuel costs and demand for direct routes — but holidays themselves are absolutely happening.
🧭 My best advice right now
✔ Book direct where you can
✔ Avoid Middle East stopovers (for now)
✔ Or choose destinations westward or within Europe
There are still so many incredible places you can go — safely, easily, and without disruption.
