When BA cancelled our family flights and the alternatives involved indirect routes, we decided to stay in Athens for an extra night — and finally try a resort I’d had my eye on for some time and the hotel kindly offered me a stunning room (paid not an ad) we stayed in the 2 bedroom residential Cabana with pool ! We had access to our own part of the beach below.
Set on its own peninsula, the location is spectacular. Sweeping Aegean views towards the Saronic islands, a beautiful beach, secluded coves and an abundance of space — yet only around 40 minutes from the Acropolis. Sunset views worth taking time to watch.
There’s a wonderful sense of nostalgia here. From the same era as the original Four Seasons Astir Palace, it belongs to a different generation of Athenian Riviera glamour. In its day, I imagine it was quite extraordinary.
There are around eight dining options, pools, beach and wellness facilities, and enough space to genuinely switch off. We tried the Japanese restaurant - stunning sunset views and amazing food and not excessively expensive.
But the standout for me was the service. Warm, attentive and genuinely kind — the kind of hospitality that makes you want to return.
Some rooms and communal areas are ready for a refresh, but I’d wouldn’t want to see this over modernised. Refurbish/update the rooms as today’s customer is fussy but I’d hope they could keep some of those iconic original interiors - the marble shower was just amazing, it gave old money vibes - retain the character that gives the resort its identity.
My verdict: at the right price point, absolutely worth considering. Spectacular setting, beautiful beach, wonderful service, space and proximity to Athens — without the price tag of some of the Riviera’s more polished addresses.
I’d much rather see this resort beautifully restored than reinvented. Its next chapter should feel like an evolution, not an erasure of the past legacy. 🇬🇷✨ thank you for your prompt reply and helping me experience your beautiful resort at such short notice !
