We have just added another event to our website, the Outsider Gravel Grind on 10/11 July. This will be held on the weekend where the Muck N' Mac Fest was scheduled, which has now moved to the 24 - 26 Sep. Two great events from Outsider Events.

A light show is set to launch celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott tonight at 6pm. You can watch it online, Smailholm Tower is a beautiful location for it.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of the man seen as the inventor of historical fiction.

Aneela McKenna moved from Glasgow to the Scottish Borders 17 years ago. She has worked in diversity and inclusion for more than two decades, but it's only in the last few years that she decided to combine her passions.

It's great to see Aneela's work for more diversity in sport featured ITV Border.

And the winner of the HSBC Recreational Cycling Award announced by Mark Beaumont is...Laura Nisbet. Congratulations!

Laura is a Breeze Champion and Guided Ride Leader in Kelso and Jedburgh. In her nominations she was praised for organising friendly, welcoming rides, when COVID restrictions permitted, and keeping people motivated and engaged during lockdowns.
